Praise that Darlene passed four of her GED tests; the Lord is enabling
us to return to Brazil; a generous couple contributed $5,000 for the
Sitio Boata Church Land Project; Dennis is getting married May 7th
to a sweet Christian girl, Sinticky; and our airline tickets have
been purchased. Pray that Darlene will pass her GED writing test;
for safe travel and new contacts here in the States; for our preparations
and trip to Brazil May 1st.; that we would have wisdom as we consider
five different ministry opportunities; and that the Lord will provide
funds for a car and household items.

Pray for God's direction as our church congregation votes May 2nd
concerning pastoral leadership as recommended by the Elder Board.

Praise God for the privilege we have of hosting Marcicleudo, a seminary
student from Limoeiro do Norte. He lives in our upstairs apartment
where we house the temporary BGFM radio recording studio. On weekends
he goes home to help in his church. Pray for this fine man, with a
very busy schedule, as he prepares to be a pastor.

& Sue Eldert - Furlough
Pray for our four month furlough, April to July, as we visit family,
friends and supporters. Pray for our son Andrew and his family as
they carry on with the camp ministry and other responsibilities in
Pararguai.

& Bev Lehrman
Antioch Bible Institute will finish the semester the end of May. Some
of the teachers left for furlough in April, so pray for strength as
we carry on the ministry here until the end of the semester. Pray
for wisdom as we make plans for furlough the end of May and the ability
to get everything accomplished that needs to be done when leaving
for several months. Continue to pray for our Bible students as they
minister in our church work in Sambaiba. Pray that lives would be
changed as they teach God's Word.

We are preparing for furlough. Pray for us as we pack, prepare an
audiovisual presentation, and participate in a retreat, ordination,
and wedding before we leave. Pray that we can manage our time well.
Chris
& Jana Disler
There are only three months remaining before Jana gives birth to our
third child. Pray for good health for both Jana and the baby and that
Jana would have strength for her normal daily tasks as well as for
her studies. Our goal is to have our language studies nearly completed
by the time the baby comes, please pray to that end. Pray that we
will have clear direction as to where God would have us serve following
language school.

Praise the Lord for His watch care during the many miles of travel.
Pray that we may accomplish a number of needed maintenance tasks during
our weeks in Central City, NE. Pray that we would be used of the Lord
during the summer months.

As the Christ Is Life Church prepares the property for construction,
many decisions need to be made. Please pray for wisdom for the church
leadership and good choices by the body as we lay out general plans
for the church property. For the next few months, projects will likely
continue to be worked on with only volunteer labor. Praise the Lord
for this exciting time in the life of our church.

Our church recently organized three care groups for our members and
regular visitors. These groups will be meeting weekly for three months
for Bible study, prayer, and encouragement. Pray that all of us will
be enriched through these meetings and that as we grow, our natural
response will be to reach out and win others to the Lord.

Praise the Lord for His provision of housing for our furlough in Kansas
City near Kendle and Daniel and their families. Bruce will be finishing
his classes at the seminary in May before we leave. Pray for lives
to be edified through the truths taught.

Pray for growth at Planalto Church. Pray for wisdom as they plan the
beginning of daughter works in Jardim Guanabara and Edson Queiroz.

We praise the Lord for a gift given to the Pajucara Bible Church to
help it relocate to larger facilities. Pray for wisdom for the church
board as it finalizes property purchase and plans for construction.

We had a good teachers' meeting at SIBIMA with the teachers sharing
their methods and goals for their classes. Pray that we will continue
this interaction and ministry in oneness of the Spirit.
Wendell
& Florence Ann Hayden - Retired
It was great to have our son Chris and his two older children come
from Nebraska for several days to do some odd jobs around our house.
We thank the Lord for the good trip we enjoyed at this beautiful time
of year and for the good meetings in Michigan, Illinois, and Missouri,
April 18 - May 3. We look forward to sharing our ministry in Brazil
in a supporting church in Minnesota on May 23. We appreciate your
prayers.

I am encouraged at SIBIMA as I work with a good team of student librarians.
At Nova Metropole I'm again teaching the junior age Sunday school
class, which is a challenge.

Please pray for Carine, a young lady in the Planalto Church who is
struggling in her Christian walk. Pray I would have wisdom in discipling
her and for her spiritual growth. This month I will begin teaching
some of the lessons to the teens at the Jardim Guanabara kids club.

Praise the Lord for the multitude of contacts ALPHA School has brought
us. Pray for us as we try to organize our schedule to allow for more
visits and entertaining in our home. Pray for Christ is Life Church
as we start small group meetings.
Priscila School
Plans are underway for the Priscila School to be held at Silver Lake
Bible Camp in July. Pray for the students who will be attending this
session.

& Chima Nichols - Furlough
Praise God, Pastors Mendonca and Valdemir and their wives have bonded
well and are doing remarkable teamwork in the city of Crateus. Pray
for the salvation of several couples with whom Mendonca and Valdemir
are studying the Gospel of John with each week. Praise God that Charles
Rodrigues from Sobral, who is studying at Calvary Bible College, has
joined the Hispanic Ministry here in Kansas City. Pray for him as
he assumes the leadership when we return to Brazil. Pray for us as
we pack and prepare for our return to Brazil this summer.

We praise and thank the Lord for blessings we had in Brazil in March
and for the opportunities to serve there. The interim pastor at our
home church left in April. Continue to pray as we search for a pastor.

Several of our missionary families returning for furlough in May will
be coming to the Home Office for several days. Pray for wisdom as
Harold works through various financial updates with them and pray
that we can be a blessing and encouragement to them during that time.

Pray for the Jereissati church which is facing many difficult situations.
Pray for Alexandre who is coming to church and is interested in the
gospel. Pray for wisdom as to whether we should minister in this church
another year. Pray for Lydia and her need for a car and that Rosie
will find summer work.
Radio Broadcast
in Pacatuba
Pastor Luiz Amorim continues his nightly radio program and reports
that many listen. Two evenings he attends classes at the SIBIMA seminary.
Espedito, a deacon from the church congregation fills in for him.
They appreciate cassette tapes and CDs of hymns and other messages
provided by the BGFM radio ministry. Please pray that he would be
able to have a
daytime children's program one day a week, if a good time slot is
available.

Pray for our daughter Renee. She is planning to go to Brazil the end
of July to help in the ALPHA School ministry. She plans to return
in December. Pray for God's direction for each step of the way.
Bible Taught in
Schools
Praise God for Bible classes being taught in 22 public schools in
the Fortaleza area. Some children study mornings, others in the afternoons
or evening. Several of the teachers are students from SIBIMA Seminary
and others are volunteers from various Bible Churches. Please pray
as Bible truth is given to hundreds of children.

Praise God for the many present (150 or more) at our three nights
of special meetings. Praise for new contacts made. Praise for a new
temporary location at a public school to hold our Sunday evening service.
Pray for us as we begin making preparations for furlough in June.
Praise for great youth events which involve most of our city churches.
Pray that we will be able to complete everything necessary to renew
Bethany's passport before June.

Earlier this year, the Limoeiro Bible Church began their transition
from missionary/pastor to a Brazilian pastor. Pray for Pastor Raimundo
as he leads the congregation there and that he will be faithful in
teaching the Word of truth.
