Prayer and Praise - January 2005

Serving our Lord in 2005
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” Genesis 1:14
Pray that we will faithfully use the days and years God gives us for His glory.

Field Conference
January 4th-11th are special days for our missionaries as they gather for the annual field conference. Pray for: Pastor and board member, Tom Zobrist as he preaches twice a day for the Bible conference; appointee Jon Johnson as he directs the VBS for missionary children; field leadership as they, along with the missionaries, care for field business and that each missionary family will be renewed in spirit thru the Word and fellowship.

Philip & Rachel Stucky
We praise the Lord for a wonderful time together with our son, Luke, and Philip's parents, Sam and Jeanne Stucky, as we celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 17th. Lasting memories were made. Our mission's annual conference will be January 4th-11th. Rev. Tom Zobrist will be speaking on Grace Alone. Pray for a time of renewal in the Word, fellowship with one another and wisdom in our business deliberations.

Ellie Driesenga
Please pray as we train the staff and complete the final preparations for carnival retreat that will be held the first week of February. Also pray for Geovanya and me as we complete our preparations to teach sign language classes at Planalto Church in February. Praise the Lord for the productive visits we have had in December making contacts with the deaf who live near the church.

“Then saith he unto His disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.

Bill & Sandi Graf - Mission Representatives
Pray for us as we will be speaking in various aspects during the Missions Emphasis week at LeTourneau University the last week of this month. There are some great students at the school and we would like to see some of them on the mission fileds of the world.

Praise God for the shipment of tracts we received which Brazilian pastors were wanting. We have opportunities daily for personally giving out tracts and find them well received. Pray that God will bless His Word to seeking hearts. We invite many to tune into the Pajucara gospel radio program aired daily.

Paul & Elaine Syers
Thank the Lord for the help of Andrew Eldert with new construction. Also for the way students are using each other's ideas for visuals in teaching and preaching. Please pray for students as they use these ideas in their home churches and also in churches around the Bible Institute. As we see them practice what they have learned since February 2004, we can only invite you to praise the Lord with us.

Praise the Lord for the privilege to participate in the missions conference in Gerald's home church in Oklahoma. We also attended Amy's 50th year reunion of the nurses with whom she graduated (our spouses were also present). All but one are believers. We had a great time. Pray for wisdom and the ability to fulfill all the responsibilities in our ministry in our church.

National Pastors
We are thankful to the Lord for the fifty five national pastors He has prepared for ministry. Pray that these men would be faithful in their devotional times and diligent in preparation and teaching the truth of God's Word. Pray also that their heart would be encouraged in their ministry today.

Larry will be ministering in five missions conferences in five different states during the last week of January and four weeks in February. Pray for safety in travel and that many would be challenged to be involved in missions.

Bruce & LeeAnn Nichols - Furlough
One of the special things we enjoy while in the USA is time with family personally instead of e-mail or phone calls, which are nice, but not the same. We thank God for these times especially during the holidays. Pray for us as we seek to prepare Faith Ann and Grace for staying here to attend Bible college. Many decisions need to be made. Continue to pray for us as we report to the churches and pray for LeeAnn as she teaches a ladies Sunday school class for a few weeks.
