Prayer and Praise - July 2005
Chris & Jana Disler
We praise the Lord for our daughter, Alicia, who will be seven years old on July 7th. We are thankful that she loves Jesus and strives to obey Him and do what is pleasing to Him. She enjoys playing with her friends, brother, sister and her chickens. Pray for her growth in our Lord Jesus Christ, her desire to obey God, new friends in Morada Nova and for Jana and I as we seek to bring her up in the love and fear of the Lord.
Sam & Jeanne Stucky - Retired
Sam began teaching the adult Sunday School class again on June 5th. He has prepared a study in 2 Peter and would appreciate your prayers. The latter part of September the quartet Sam sang with at Grace Bible College will be giving two programs for alumni rallies. One will be at Grace and the other in Newton, Kansas. Pray that Sam will have the physical strength to make the trip and sing with the quartet.

Property has been rented for our third church plant to be launched in January 2006. Pray for the team as plans are being made with the Planalto Church leadership fo rthis new and exciting challenge. We need the right Brazilian pastor-teacher for this ministry. We are thankful for this time of furlough and pray that the Lord will use us as He desires while in the USA.
"America the Beautiful"
Together let us take this opportunity to thank God for our country and our President. May we join in prayer today for President Bush in the multitue of decisions before him and thank the Lord for the freedom that is ours to go forth and spread the Gospel into all the world.

Our first weeks in Brazil are full of unknowns. How will the vehicle function when taken out of storage? Where will we live in Morada Nova? Will we be able to buy a house, or need to rent for awhile? How easily can we sell our house in Limoeiro? Pray with us in our time of transition.
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Pray that those living in darkness in Northeast Brazil will come to realize that Jesus is the Light of the World.

& Elaine Syers
Vanderly, a new believer in the Gijoca Bible Church, wonders why her friend, Neidiana, doesn't make more effort to attend church. Neidiana was so impressed by the change in Vanderly, and seemed so interested in the Gospel. Please pray for Vanderly and the pastor's daughter, Lidia, that the Lord will show them how to best reach out to Neidiana. Also pray for Edinaldo, who will now be in charge of giving the messages on Sunday each week or finding a local pastor to do it.
Dave
& Sue Eldert
Pray for a former Antioch Bible Institute student, who has a rebellious attitude and is considering taking the Institute to court. We have no idea what this might mean for the school so pray for us in this situation. Pray also for the student as we would like to see him serving the Lord again. June 15th, Jose Maria, and his wife, Evanildes graduated from ABI. Pray for them as they continue to minister in the Aranau Bible Church.
Priscilla School
Praise for another session of Priscilla School at Silver Lake Bible Camp. We are needing visual materials to sell at reduced rates to the ladies who attend.

& Jeanie Stucky
Recently the giving at our church has dropped significantly. Pray that each member would give faithfully and enjoy the blessing of seeing the Lord provide for every need. Ptay that each member would be fully committed to the Lord in other areas as well.
Jonathan Johnson - Appointee
Once again we praise God that He is faithful to work in our lives as Paul said, "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think." Often, even the grandest dreams are nothing compared to what He has in store. It is with great anticipation and thankfulness that I request prayer for myself and my fiance, Denielle. We covet your prayers as we look forward to the day when we might serve God together. God's faithfulness to work in our hearts is indescribable in its depth. Please continue to pray for the three camps I will be working at throughout the month, that I would be available for God's use.
Nancy Lieb
I am working with Lucy to get our apartment ready for someone to live in while Lucy goes on furlough. Pray for wisdom as we decide what to do with books and other items.
Ellie Driesenga - Furlough

We thank the Lord for the blessing we had this year in spending quality time with our family and many friends in the U.S. Pray for us as we re-enter the ministry of the Word of God in Brazil and that God would give us wisdom to minister in such a way that the nationals will be involved with us.
Harold
& Ruth Green
Thank you for your faithful ministry of intercession on our behalf each month. During these next two week s we are looking forward to spending time with another of our furloughing missionary families. We would appreciate your prayers for Harold as he updates them concerning their financial and accounting needs..
John 17:3
And this is life eternal, that they might
know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Pray for those confused in religion to know the only true God and
His son, Jesus Christ.
National Pastor - Pastor Nelson
Pastor Nelson has been pastor of the Acarau Bible Church for several years. The believers are growing in their walk with the Lord and a good number have recently trusted the Lord as their Savior. Pray for Pastor Nelson as he desires to establish godly men in the leadership of the church and that these men would be faithful to God in the responsibility.
Brazilian Currency Exchange Rate
Late in 2004 our missionaries were receiving R$3,00 reais (Brazilian Currency) for each dollar exchanged. Over the past months the exchange rate has consistently dropped which means that goods and services are more expensive. Pray for our missionaries as they work through these financial adjustments, knowing that our great God is in control, even of the nations in their interactions. Of course, we supplicate that this situation would improve.
Jonathan
& Chima Nichols
Praise the Lord for safety as we traveled to southern Brazil the early part of June. We are grateful for the many new friendships we made with missionaries and Brazilian pastors and for the insights as to the spiritual needs in this part of the country. Pray that the Lord will continue to give direction with regards to the possibility of opening a new work in southern Brazil together with two other missionary couples.

some have not the knowledge of God; I speak this to your shame.
Ask God to help us together to be faithful in sharing our knowledge
of our Savior.
