After suffering a stroke, Ken went to be with His Lord on October 6th in the presence of several of his family. Continue to pray with the Nichols family and to praise God for the many years of faithful service Ken gave in Brazil before retiring.

We are thankful for God's goodness and faithfulness to us. We look forward to the time of fellowship we will enjoy as missionaries during the Thanksgiving season. Praise the Lord for property building a house in Morada Nova. We also praise the Lord for a new campground site near Limoeiro. Pray for wisdom for these building projects. Pray also for contacts in Morada Nova.

We thank the Lord for His grace which has carried us through the difficult time of the tragic death of our daughter-in-law, Chris's wife. Please pray for Chris and his four children.

Praise the Lord for over 30 people who have made professions of faith this year. Pray for their discipleship and growth. Pray for the evangelistic outreach from our church as this is Evangelistic Emphasis month. Pray for the special evangelistic outreach that our youth are having on the 12th.
Ellie Driesenga - Furlough
Please pray as I travel to California to participate in a missions conference at Vacaville Bible Church November 5th-9th. Praise the Lord for the opportunities He has provided to minister to some of the girls here at Calvary Bible College and for the times I have been able to share about the ministry in Brazil during September and October.
Jerry & Bev Lehrman
We praise the Lord for His gracious protection of our six year old, Jared, when a mule kicked him in the face on October 10th. He received a bad cut right above his eye which needed stitches, but his eye is fine and there was no damage to his skull bone.

Pray for our trip to West Virginia for a missions conference at Appalachian Bible College. We are thankful for God's safety over us in the many miles traveled in October.
Dave & Sue Eldert
Pray for all of the adjustments and changes that will come about in the next few months in regards to Sue's cancer treatment. This will be done in the states. It will entail leaving courses at Antioch Bible Institute unfinished and not knowing for sure if we can return in time for the next semester. Pray for those that will be taking our place during this time.
Dan & Linda Anderson
Praise the Lord for Cicero and Belo's decisions for Christ. Cicero's wife, Alaide, trusted Christ about six months ago and has been praying for her husband ever since. Belo's son, Henrique, is a huge help in the Vila Rica Bible Church plant. Belo and his wife, Rosa, studied the book of John with Dan over three years ago, and we are thankful that recently he trusted Christ as his Savior.

Pray that the insurance company would settle and that Cornerstone Bible Institute would be able to get the material to re-roof their buildings while we are there. Pray that the weather would hold for us to accomplish this.

Praise for a good trip to the United States. Pray for those who are substituting for me. Pray that my time in the United States may be profitable. Praise for the nine baptized at Nova Metropole recently.

Thank the Lord with us for students putting into their practice what they have learned here at Antioch Bible Institute: Dinho and Fabiana are doing well with the newly started work in Maceio and Ana Claudia, is now studying here. She had a major problem in her life, and we had been praying with her about it. Now it is being resolved! We are so thankful that she was willing to see her need and allow the Lord to show her how to meet that need.

Praise the Lord for the 6:30-7:00 A.M. Gospel radio program Monday through Friday in the Metropolitan area for Fortaleza. Pray that many of the three million potential listeners will tune in and hear the Word from the five churches that share the salvation message.

Praise for October reunions - a weekend with Bryan College alumni, celebrating the 75th anniversary, and a week with Jane's siblings and their spouses at Myrtle Beach. We're thankful for Ed's opportunities to preach at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church while the pastor and six men are on a mission trip to India.

Please pray for Rosie as she is working on her documents for travel to Brazil this December. Pray also for Andrew who has mononucleosis and has to be out of work and ministries at the church. Pray also for Ron who is continuing treatment for his ulcers and does feel a little better but needs to make more progress health wise.

Bruce traveled to the USA to be with his father during his illness and with his mother for a short time after Dad's promotion to heaven. Pray for a fruitful return to the ministry, and praise the Lord with us for those who carried on while he was gone.

I am thankful for those who made it possible for me (Jonathan) to travel to the USA to be with my father and family during his illness and home going. I'm especially grateful for my wife who was used of the Lord in renewing my Brazilian passport in record time (a few hours)! Thanks to so many who were an encouragement to all during this time. Pray for our monthly leadership training in Santa Quiteria. Our students desire that we add at least another evening of classes per month, but many are having difficulty working that into their busy schedules.

Pray for a good wrap-up to our school year. Classes end the beginning of December. Pray for wisdom for the church leadership in regards to possible major changes.

We are thankful for God's provision of a small piece of land right next to the current ALPHA school facility. Pray for His provision as we build enough class rooms to meet the school's need for two or three more years at which time we plan to begin moving to the permanent campus.

Praise the Lord with me that so far six couples and a teenager have promised to support me. It was encouraging to see a teenager wanting to support a missionary. Thank you for praying for me.

Pray that the adults and youth would attend Sunday school faithfully. Pray also for more Sunday school teachers since two are moving away in December. Many children from unsaved families come. Pray that we would use opportunities to visit these families and share Christ with them.

Praise that we could get together for Thanksgiving at Iguape and that all of the details worked out well since this is the first year I have worked with the hotel where we met for lunch.
Priscilla School - Teacher Training for Women
Praise that we have a date for the Fortaleza school (January 16-20), and a location (the Southern Baptist Camp). Pray that as we send out the information to the students and churches we will have a good number of students
Thankful
During the month of October, we as a mission appreciated so much having faithful intercessors to uphold us during times of heavy burdens. Diann Hayden, daughter-in-law of Wendell and Florence Ann Hayden, passed away on October 4th, and Ken Nichols, faithful servant of God with the BGFM since 1956, went to be with the Lord he served on October 6th. Thank God with us for faithful prayer partners upholding God's servants in prayer.
