Prayer and Praise - February 2006
Dale & Carol Johnson
Pray that as we befriend our next door neighbor, Aiton and Edna, they may see Jesus in us. Pray that many will listen to the early morning Gospel radio program in response to the invitations we give out daily.
Jim & Lydia Johnson
Praise the Lord for the opportunities for evangelistic Bible studies, interested hearers, and also for the blessing of fellowship at our field conference in January. Pray for our Canival retreat and for plans to begin regular services here in Morada Nova.
Ken & Lori Stucky
We are grateful for several new teachers and full classrooms for the 2006 school year just now beginning. Pray for at least one full time English teacher to be able to come from the USA to help us during the fall semester of 2006.
Paul & Elaine Syers
Please pray with us for an 18 year old Antioch Bible Institute student who plans to marry a 16 year old girl who has two more years of high school. His parents are not believers, and he has lived for a number f years with another family who encourages this marriage. Thank God with us for ABI students who have done a good job of helping out in their home churches during their Christmas vacation.
Al & Nadine Pierschbacher
Praise the Lord for His faithfulness during our eight months in the States. Pray with us for our next church plant and for the development of the New Hope Bible Training and Retreat Center in Brazil. Our next project for the center is to finish a new kitchen and dining room. Pray that the Lord will open doors for evangelism, discipleship and leadership training.
Dave & Sue Eldert
We are very thankful for the new year and the way the Lord is leading us. Sue's treament is going very well, but we do not know yet if it is being effective. Her sixth treatment was on the 9th of January and continues each week for ten to twelve weeks. Pray for the new semester that has already begun at Antioch Bible Institute. Gerald and Amy Bergen will be teaching for eight weeks. Pray for Jerry, Elaine and others who will also be teaching. The Lord willing, we hope to return the end of April.
Larry & Ruth Lipka - Executive Director BGFM
Larry travels to two different mission's conferences during February. Ruth will join him for one. Pray that as the Word of God is preached and reports of God's work in Brazil are shared that believers will be challenged to pray more effectively for missions. Pray that some will be willing to go to Brazil and other countries as faithful servants of God.
Bill & Sandi Graf - Missionaries at Large
Praise the Lord for the time we were able to spend at LeTourneau University and the College of Biblical Studies as representatives of the Lord of the Harvest. Pray that He would send out laborers into the fields that are ripe. Praise the Lord for the opportunity to become acquainted with and encourage students at Rio Grande Bible Institute.
Alisa Pierschbacher - Appointee
Praise the Lord for the great family times over Christmas and traveling with my parents and Grandpa Cashler to my brother's home in Atlanta, Georgia. It was such a blessing to hear my niece read Bible stories and pray. Pray for wisdom as I schedule meetings to present my ministry. My goal is to arrive in Brazil by July of this year. I am presently at 33% of my support and 60% of my one time outgoing expenses. Please pray for doors of ministry to open as I prepare here to serve in Brazil.

National Pastor - Pastor Mauro Rocha
Praise the Lord with us that Pastor Mauro has been at the Jereisatti Bible Church for one year as assistant pastor. We are thankful for his faithful preaching and teaching. Pray for continued growth in his minstry and that his factory job will not take too much time from his responsibilities at the church.
Ellie Driesenga - Furlough
Jennifer and I are back into classes here at Calvary Bible College to complete our last semester. Pray for me as I am mentoring one of the new students this semester.

We have had some major changes in our Sunday school staff, due to some teachers moving away or taking time off. Pray that each teacher would teach according to the best of his ability for God's glory. Pray for renewed interest in attending and participating especially among the youth and adults. Pray that evangelistic Bible studies in homes will be effective in bringing the lost to Jesus.

Praise the Lord with use for a wonderful visit with Rosie and the first Christmas with our entire family together in five years. Pray for those who received tracts and were ministered to by Rosie and her friend, Whitney from college. Pray for Lydia to know God's will for her life. She needs to leave Brazil because she is unable to renew her Brazilian permanent visa.
Philip & Rachel Stucky
We are excited to announce the engagement of our oldest son, Andrew, to Erin Gardner. They would appreciate your prayers as they plan for a July 8th wedding. Pray also for us as we return to Brazil on the 16th and begin the process of moving from Fortaleza to Maceio, a city of nearly 1,000,000 people, located about 700 miles southeast of Fortaleza.

The children and I praise the Lord for Jana in a special way this month as she celebrates her birthday on the 16th of February. She has been a wonderful wife of nearly ten years now and a great mother to our children.

We thank the Lord for opportunities to serve Him. Please pray as we take part in our church's Welcome Basket ministry for newcomers in our area. The welcome baskets include small gifts, a brochure telling about our church with an invitation to visit, and a Gospel tract. Pray for these contacts and for follow-up on them.

Praise the Lord for a refreshing time with Ranelle's family the beginning of the year. Alpha's school year started the end of January. Pray for the many adjustments that need to be made in the first weeks of school. Pray for us to model spiritual growth at home, church and school.
Ed & Jane Lieb - Retired
Praise the Lord for all of His blessings. Jane has had a good bit of expensive dental work and thinks that is finished for now. We have reasonably good health and are enjoying having our daughter Lucy with us.
Jerry & Bev Lehrman
We praise the Lord for 2005 year-end blessings as three individuals in our church trusted Christ as Savior during the Christmas activities. A teen, Roberta; a 10-year old girl, Midian; and a young married man, Jose, whose wife is close to making a decision as well. Each is the only one saved in their family. Pray for spiritual growth and discipleship studies that will be done with them. Pray as well for Antioch Bible Institute classes, started January 30, and for students adjusting to school life.
Harold & Ruth Green - Finance Director BGFM
We deeply appreciate your prayers on our behalf as we minister in the Home Office of BGFM. We are involved this month with plans and preparations for our Annual Business Meeting and banquet to be held in March. Pray for wisdom as Harold prepares financial reports for our Annual Business Meeting and Ruth and Barb Sanders finalize details for the banquet.

Pray that those living in darkness in Northeast Brazil will come to realize that Jesus is the Light of the world.
National Pastor - Pastor Jose Henrique
Pray for Pastor Jose Henrique and the new church plant in Ibicua. God is blessing this ministry and they have about one hundred in attendance. They are having a difficult time procuring property for a church since the owners don't want to sell to believers. Pray that God would bless and in due time they could purchase the land.

We praise the Lord for each of you who pray for the Lord's work here. We also praise the Lord for those who are being saved in Caninde, including a former neighbor that was uninterested in the gospel when we lived there, but was recently saved through the church's outreach. Pray with us for some who are preparing for baptism here in Caucaia that this might be a time of spiriutal growth for them.

Praise for renewed friendships. Continue to pray as I plan travels around the United States, and that I might have good weather for traveling.
Brazilians Preaching and Training
On a daily basis BGFM missionaries along with faithful, capable Brazilians are teaching and preaching the Word of God. Many Brazilians still need to hear and understand the message of salvation. Others need to grow as believers for service and victorious daily living. Pray that the Word of God would be "living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" in the lives of each hearer.
Pedra Branca Bible Church
Pray for Pastor Manuel as he pastors the church and directs the Christian school in Pedra Branca. We are grateful to the Lord for the good number of students in attendance and for our teaching staff. Pray for the Lord's provision of teaching materials that are needed for the school.
SIBIMA Seminary
February is the beginning of the first semester of a new school year. Pray for new students and for teachers. Pray also for an initiative in beginning a mission work in Cape Verde off the coast of Africa.
