Prayer and Praise - July 2006
Ken & Lori Stucky
Television programs affect over 99% of the children in our community. ALPHA faces daily challenges brought on by these programs. More than one current series is geared to guide children to rebel against their parents, their schools and local law enforcement. Pray for effectiveness as we launch an information campaign in an attempt to lead parents to wise choices in their household viewing. Pray that the history and reputation for violence in Brazil will be altered as men and women come to Christ and take control of their homes.
Bill & Sandi Graf - Missionaries at Large
July 3rd through 8th we will host a work team from the Katy Bible church of Katy, Texas. July 10th through 15th we will host a team of girls from Xenia, Ohio. Pray that we will accomplish much and that these people will be challenged and encouraged to life-time commitment to God's service.
Al & Nadine Pierschbacher
Praise the Lord for the good services and attendance at our new church plant. Pray for the salvation of Carla, Tiago, Rafael, Val and Joe. Praise the Lord for the work being done at the Retreat Center. We have poured over 2000 square feet of concrete floor for the dorm rooms. Pray for the Bethel Baptist Team of twenty two couples and eighteen youth arriving July 19th to spend over two weeks working. Pray that this time and work will impact their lives.

Together let us take this opportunity to thank God for our country and our President. May we join in prayer today for President Bush in the multitude of decisions before him and thank the Lord for the freedom that is ours to go forth and spread the Gospel into all the world.
Quixere Bible Church
The Quixere Bible Church will be having Vacation Bible School during the last week of July. Pray that the contacts made with the children will result in follow up opportunities and open doors to unbelieving families. Pastor Erasmo will be traveling the first part of July and requests your prayers for the church during his absence.
Ellie Driesenga
Praise the Lord for a safe trip back to Brazil last month and the opportunity to settle in my new home. Please pray for wisdom as I transition back into ministry in Brazil. Also pray for Kady Smith as she visits the different ministries here in Brazil and seeks the Lord's direction concerning her future.
Chris & Jana Disler - Furlough
We thank the Lord especially for Alicia this month as she turns eight years old on the 7th of July. Please pray for us as we transition back to the American culture, and pray for safety in the many miles we will travel this month.
Philip & Rachel Stucky
God answered your prayers and ours! Jose and two of his daughters, Jessica and Joelma, have now placed their trust in Christ as Savior. Pray for their spiritual growth adn the salvation of the remainder of Jose's family. July 8th marks a very special day for us. We will be in the U.S. celebrating our son, Andrew's, and his fiance, Erin's wedding. Pray that God would bless their lives together for His glory.
Jonathan & Denielle Johnson - Appointees
Please pray for our youth group as we conduct a Vacation Bible School in Colorado, July 9th-14th. Pray also for our plans for the coming fall. We thank God for the meetings He has already allowed us to schedule.
Harold & Ruth Green - Finance Director BGFM
Thank you for your faithful ministry of intercession on our behalf each month. During the next three weeks several of our missionaries on home assignment will be coming to the Home Office and we are looking forward to spending time with them. We would appreciate your prayers for Harold as he updates them concerning their financial and accounting needs.
Paul & Elaine Syers
Thank God that Wellington's home church is doing well without a pastor. The Lord has given Wellington wisdom beyond his twenty years as he continues to visit every weekend to be involved in all their activities. He will continue to live in the Antioch Bible Institute men's dorm during break between semesters because his parents are not involved in his life. He will be working with Elaine to prepare Portuguese homework sheets on the computer. This will stretch his ability to draw diagrams for sentences in the Bible, but he enjoys learning. Please continue to pray for him.
Priscilla School - Teacher Training for Women
Pray for students, teachers and other helpers who will be involved in the Priscilla School to be held at Silver Lake Bible Camp July 17-21. We had to increase our rates because of a lack of funds so we realize that we may have fewer students. Pray for God's provision.
Jim & Lydia Johnson
Pray with us as we adjust to the Dislers being gone on home assignment. Pray for the opportunities that school vacations bring for a more intense ministry. Pray for our first VBS in Morada Nova. Pray for Auristenio who is receiving a lot of flack from his family because of his newfound faith.
Ron & Ranelle Stucky
Praise the Lord with us for the children he has given us. Pray that we would train them in a way that is pleasing to Him. Pray that our family would reflect Jesus to our community that needs Him.
Jonathan & Chima Nichols - Furlough
Pray for a safe and fruitful three month furlough from June 20th through September 14th as we visit supporting churches and take Praus and Chara to college. Pray for grace for the Sobral Bible Church as they face a difficult problem. Pray for the salvation of Frank, Howard, and Humberto. Pray that Humberto will continue studying the Bible under Pastor Jorge's care. Praise that Gervasio is willing to substitute teach for me in the Santa Quiteria leadership training center while we are away.

Praise for another good year at Antioch Bible Institute as others filled in for us. Pray for the preparations for two camp events in July, pastor's conference and Priscilla School. Pray for good results from added chemo treatment Sue is starting due to cancer complications.

During July, our vacation from classes at ALPHA, we plan to visit in the homes of all our church families. Pray for us to be sensitive to their needs as we visit and to know how to encourage each one of them to be faithful to the Lord, to grow in Him and reach out to others.

Please pray for the following men and women to whom the Word of God has been committed and who are now teaching others also. Luiz is teaching his wife Tereza and sister-in-law Fransquinha, Augusto is teaching his brother Antonio and wife Daniele, Fabienne is teaching her neighbor, Mary, and Ronyere is teaching a friend, Osmildo. Please pray for these lost people to receive with humble hearts the Word of God by faith.
Wendell & Florence Ann Hayden - Retired
We're planning a trip to Oregon the last week of this month. We look forward to visiting supporters and also family as Florence Ann's siblings and some of their children get together to celebrate her brother and sister's birthday (they are twins). We appreciate your prayers as we drive out and back.
Jerry & Bev Lehrman
In June we asked prayer for two Bible Institute students who were planning a trip to Guyana in preparation for future ministry there. Doors are closed for the trip at this time. Pray for guidance in regard to future missionary service and also their present studies at the Antioch Bible Institute. Pray also for wise use of our time during our school break.
SIBIMA Seminary
SIBIMA administration has been struggling for the past months due to lack of finances. Pray for wisdom in knowing how to resolve this situation caused by the devaluation of the dollar. There are fewer students this semester and those who are studying are having a hard time paying their bills.

We thank the Lord for our faithful friends who have supported us through the years. Pray now as we have unexpected costly expenses that will continue during the remaining months of the year 2006.
Lucy Lieb - Furlough
This month I will be finishing my travels. My reservation for returning to Brazil is for August 7th. Pray as I finish my travels and pack for my return to Brazil. I'm thankful for all of the people and churches I was able to visit, and for safety in travel.

Our daughter, Renee, will be leaving the first week of August to teach in Brazil at the ALPHA School where she taught two years ago. She will be teaching English to students and teachers along with other responsibilities. Most of the students are not believers. Pray for her witness in the school and community. Pray God's blessing for effectiveness and protection as she serves.

Pray for wisdom in knowing what response I should make to an invitation to help with the youth group in one of our churches. Pray also as Lucy and I have just received word that another $160 per month was added to our apartment payments, this is on top of the $460 per month we are presently paying.

Praise for the many blessings we receive from the Lord. Pray for us as we prepare and pack for our trip to Brazil in August and that we might enjoy good health and have an effective ministry.
Dan & Linda Anderson
Dan was praising the Lord after his second Bible study with Dr. Rui, a brain surgeon. This is the first time that Dr. Rui had opened the Bible. His questions from John chapter 2 reveal how seriously he is searching. Pray with us for his salvation.
National Pastor - Pastor Jose Henrique
Thank you for praying for Pastor Jose Henrique and the believers in Ibicua. God is blessing this ministry and they have about one hundred in attendance. They would like to procure property for a church; however, the owners don't want to sell to believers. Pray that God would bless and in due time they could purchase land.
Brazilians Preaching and Teaching
On a daily basis BGFM missionaries along with faithful, capable Brazilians are teaching and preaching the Word of God. Many Brazilians still need to hear and understand the message of salvation. Others need to grow spiritually for service and victorious daily living. Pray that the Word of God would be "living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" in the lives of each hearer.
