Prayer and Praise - November 2006
Larry & Ruth Lipka - Executive Director BGFM
Thank God with us for giving us wonderful travels, blessed fellowship and opportunities to serve others both on a personal level and in church conferences. Pray for Larry as he speaks at a Bible conference October 29th through November 3rd. Pray as we participate in the missions conference at Appalachian Bible College November 6th-8th.
Bruce & LeeAnn Nichols
November 2nd through the 5th Bruce will be teaching at our men's retreat on the theme "Our responsibility to teach our children." Pray for Bruce as he speaks and that God would use us to encourage more men to teach the Bible to their children. Praise the Lord that Tito, a boy who is about 15 years old has started coming back to our meetings. Pray that he would be faithful to the Lord.
Jim & Lydia Johnson
We thank the Lord for His sovereignty and for His provisions as we face cancer and the many changes in our lives at this time. Pray for us as we continue treatment in the States for Lydia's cancer. Pray for the ministries in the Jaguaribe River Valley during our absence.
Chris & Jana Disler - Home Assignment
We praise the Lord for safe travels to Illinois in September and around Indiana in October. We are looking forward to our deputation trip to Charlotte, NC on November 5th, Tampa, Florida from the 6th-10th and to Kinston, NC November 12th. We are also excited to celebrate our first Thanksgiving in three years with our family in the States.

Sue's brother went home to be with the Lord on September 20th. Please remember his family. Sue's sister has some health problems. Remember her as she works and cares for her invalid mother and son with MS. Sue had a good report from the doctor. Dave's trip to Brazil was profitable and he has begun teaching there using the internet.
Philip & Rachel Stucky
Sine our inaugural service on the church property in Village Campestre on September 3rd, the Lord has brought us as many visitors as our group of believers! Praise the Lord with us for all of the doors He has opened! We have begun numerous evangelistic home Bible studies. Pray for the salvation of George and Amparo, Edivan, Cicero and Vanha, and Antonio, as well as Cicero and Isabel. Praise the Lord with us for three adolescent girls who placed their trust in Christ as Savior; pray for their spiritual growth as they are being disciled. Pray also for a greater commitment to Christ in the lives of Rosy, Jaqueline, Keylla and Thayse.
Joe & Jeanie Stucky - Home Assignment
Pray for health and strength as we finish our home assignment time and that our lives would challenge others to a deeper commitment to Jesus. Pray concerning support needs for us and the ALPHA School and safety in our travels here and back to Brazil.
David & Connie Johnson
Praise the Lord for two couples desiring to be married in order to make things right before they are baptized. Pray that we can find a good location for an open-air baptism, as nine new believers give public testimony of faith in Christ. Pray for wisdom and funds as we seek a permanent location for the Pacajus church.
Bill & Sandi Graf - Missionaries at Large
Praise the Lord for the opportunities to present the challenge of missions in colleges and churches. Pray for our remaining visits this month, a good time with Sandi's family for Thanksgiving and a safe trip to Texas by the end of the month.
Jerry & Bev Lehrman
Jerry is grateful to have arrived home a few hours before the death of his mother on September 23rd. It was good to spend time with his siblings in the states during that time and also visit with many firends from the past. We praise the Lord for those who stepped in and helped keep things going at the Bible Institute during his absence. Pray for wisdom as new students are applying for 2007 school year. We need more teachers, classroom space, and housing. We are looking to our great God to fill these needs so we can continue to train pastors to carry forth the Word of God to a needy people.

The ALPHA School has been providing a Christian Education for nearly six years. This semester Pastor Ed Barbosa has been visiting the homes of troubled students, sharing the claims of Jesus Christ with these kids and their families. Pray for hearts to be sensitive to God's Word and the News of Salvation. Pray also for thirty five additional student sponsors to take on those still needing to be adopted.
Jonathan & Denielle Johnson - Appointees
Please pray for a young man and several young ladies in our youth group who need to trust Jesus. Pray for those who are working with the middle and high school students as we are on deputation. We are thankful for the safety in travel and enjoyable meetings God gae us in Illinois during the month of October. Please pray also for our meetings in Kansas November 12th through 26th.
Paul & Elaine Syers
Please pray for our students and teachers as they finish up this school year. Some will be making decisions about where to work during the end of the year vacation from Antioch Bible Institute. Teachers coming in from other towns will be leccturing many hours per day to finish their courses with just a few visits since they did not start at the beginning of this semester.

Pray for the prospective students as they send in their enrollment information and prepare for the session in January.
Wendell & Florence Ann Hayden - Retired
We thank the Lord for His grace, comfort and peace in the loss of Wendell's mother last month and especially for Wendell as he held the funeral service. We are also thankful for that same grace, comfort and peace on the first anniversary of our daughter-in-law's death. We are grateful that Chris and the children could be with us at that time as we remembered the loss of his wife and their mother. Thank you for your prayers for Chris and his family.
Dan & Linda Anderson
Praise the Lord for Boi's salvation. Luiz and Belo are studying the Bible with Dan on Tuesday evenings. Pray for their salvation. Pray for David and Karla as they adjust to the responsibilities of parenthood. Praise the Lord for the consistent progress Linda and the children are making with school this year. Krisi's help has been indispensable.
Ellie Driesenga
This is the last month of school at Colegio Absoluto Christian School. Pray for the salvation of the students and endurance and wisdom for the teachers. Praise the Lord that the camp training went well and we were all challenged. Please pray as I complete the required assignments in the next month.
Lucy Lieb
I'm thankful for the team of student librarians and trust the Lord for a few more to participate next semester. Pray for the finances at SIBIMA Seminary. The organization is going through some serious difficulties. I am teaching a primary Sunday school class. Pray for the salvation and spiritual growth of my students.
Gerald & Amy Bergen - Retired
We are very grateful for the good health the Lord has given to us. We are considering going to Brazil in the middle of January and staying until the middle of April. We have been approached to serve as mission home hosts during this time and Gerald would be teaching a course at the Antioch Bible Institute. Pray with us as these plans are finalized.

We are grateful to the Lord for each of you that faithfully uphold us in prayer. PRay for wisdom as we minister daily in our responsibilities in the Home Office and that our lives will be a manifestation of God's glory.

Praise the Lord for a large shipment of Bible correspondece courses we received from Source of Light Mission. We purchase these and give them out free of charge and then award diplomas to those who study and finish the courses. Thank God for two ladies, one being a university teacher who are enthusiastic helpers in distributing courses to many. Pray for needy souls to accept Christ as Savior.

Praise for a good visit with my sister, Celia Barrett, and the privilege of going back to the US with her. Pray as I contact with supporters and churches and begin my home assignment this month.
May Our Hearts Be Thankful
On this Thanksgiving Day may our hearts be grateful to God for His provision for our redemption through the Lord Jesus and the hope of everlasting life. Let us together thank God for His Word and the truth He has given that enable us to bring glory to Him and be a blessing to others. May this be our prayer day by day.

Praise the Lord with me for additional support. Pray for safety as I travel to two missions conferences this month and that the Lord would open hearts for prayer and financial support.
Joel & Melissa Johnson - Missionaries at Large
Praise God for our wonderful short term mission trip to Brazil in September. We had the privilege of seeing several come to Christ and the seed of God's Word was planted in the hearts of many more. Please continue to pray for our upcoming short term mission trips. What a joy to see God touching lives of those who go as well. Praise the Lord for the opportunity Joel had to speak for a great youth rally in Fortaleza.
BGFM Field Guest Home
Praise the Lord that Gerald and Amy Bergen, retired missionaries, are considering spending three months hosting our guest home. Pray as we make plans to cover the other months during Nancy Lieb's home assignment.
Ed & Jane Lieb - Retired
Praise for the work we were able to do in Brazil teaching at the Antioch Bible Institute. Pray that the Lord will guide as we serve Him here, especially pray for a ministry for Ed.
Christmas Programs
Christmas programs are usually well attended in our churches in Brazil. Many unbelievers may hear the message of salvation for the first time during these programs. Pray for open and receptive hearts to the gospel.
Philippians 4:6
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let you requests be made known unto God.”
Annual Field Conference
The annual field conference will be held January 2nd through the 8th. Pray for wisdom as the conference committee finalizes details concerning location for the conference and for those that will plan the VBS for the children during those days. Remember in prayer the speaker as he prayerfully prepares the Bible studies for the conference. Pray that each missionary family will be renewed in spirit through the Word and fellowship.
