Dan and Linda Anderson were born miles apart yet their lives were
very similar. They were both raised in pastors homes
with much involvement in ministry. At the age of five they
both received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. During
high school, Dan and Linda attended Bible camps nearly 600
miles apart where the Lord burdened both of their hearts for
missions.
While at Calvary Bible College, Dan and Lindas lives
crossed. They were married in 1991 and a year later they both
graduated. Dan earned a degree in general missions, and Linda
was a mathematics education major. Also while at Calvary,
God began to direct them to Brazil Gospel Fellowship Mission.
Upon graduation, they felt it very important to gain more
local church experience before they moved on to plant churches
in Brazil. God led them to Branson Bible Church where they
ministered for four years.
The Andersons moved to Brazil in April 1998 and have ministered
in Maceió, Alagoas, since then. They thank God for
the privilege of working with Roger and Crystal Johansen,
also Calvary graduates. Igreja Esperança began in February
of 1999 and has grown to a group of nearly 100 believers. The Lord
has allowed the church to purchase property, and they are building
as the Lord provides. The Anderson's anticipate two additional church
starts in 2004 as Igreja Esperança becomes more and
more independent.
